Job Description

Overview

Compound Planning is an AI-enabled digital family office managing over $5B in assets added since 2022. We serve entrepreneurs, professionals, and retirees through a combination of personalized financial advisory and proprietary technology.

Our team includes advisors, tax professionals, investment specialists, product designers, engineers, and operators working together to build the financial institution of the future.

The Role

The Trading Associate plays a critical role on Compound’s Trade Desk, supporting portfolio implementation across client accounts.

This person will help execute trades, manage portfolio allocations, and ensure efficient implementation of the firm’s investment strategies.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of experience trading within an RIA or wealth management environment, and brings strong familiarity with Orion Advisor Technology, with a focus on Eclipse & sleeve-based trading.

As a fast-growing firm, priorities can shift quickly. This role requires someone who is detail-oriented, operationally strong, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and speed both matter.

This position is 100% remote.

What You’ll Do

  • Execute trades across equities, fixed income, ETFs, mutual funds, and options with accuracy and efficiency

  • Implement and rebalance portfolios within a sleeve-based structure

  • Maintain and trade model portfolios across client accounts

  • Use Orion Advisor Technology (Eclipse) to execute trades, rebalance portfolios, and monitor drift

  • Monitor portfolio cash balances, trade settlements, and cash movements to ensure liquidity needs are met

  • Perform daily reconciliation of prior-day trades to confirm completeness and accuracy

  • Identify accounts requiring action (new cash, new assets, out-of-tolerance positions, or cash raise requests)

  • Maintain and update custodial restrictions across trading systems

  • Collaborate with investment, advisory, and operations teams to ensure smooth portfolio implementation

  • Identify opportunities to improve trading workflows through automation, process improvements, and technology

  • Assist advisors and client service teams with Trade Desk questions and procedures

What Success Looks Like

  • Trades are executed accurately, efficiently, and with minimal operational friction

  • Advisors trust the Trade Desk as a reliable partner in portfolio implementation

  • Portfolio rebalancing and drift management are handled proactively and consistently

  • Processes become faster, more automated, and more scalable

  • The Trade Desk operates smoothly even during periods of high trading volume

Qualifications

Required:

  • Series 65 or Series 66

  • 2–4 years of trading experience at an RIA, wealth management firm, broker-dealer, or investment firm

  • Experience using Orion Eclipse

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or related field

  • Experience with Fidelity and Schwab custodial platforms

  • Knowledge of sleeve-based trading and model portfolio construction

  • Experience trading equities, fixed income, ETFs, mutual funds, and options in managed accounts

  • Experience with tax-efficient portfolio rebalancing

  • Familiarity with Salesforce

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Comfort working in a high-growth, fast-paced environment
