Who We Are
Second Dinner is an award-winning independent game development studio. Just how many awards, you ask? A whopping 22 in total so far… Including Mobile Game of the Year from both The Game Awards and DICE, Best Strategy Game from IGN, and the prestigious Apple Design Award for Innovation. Yes, that’s a lot of awards! But these accolades don’t magically materialize; they’re a testament to the amazing folks who make up our studio. You could be the next addition to our award-winning team! Continue reading to find out more.
For our debut game, MARVEL SNAP, we’ve partnered with Marvel (Trust us, we had to pinch ourselves too!). We’ve got other SUPER FUN (but still secret) projects in the works, and this role is a chance to be a part of something new and special at the company. As a remote-first company, we value diversity and encourage applications from everyone who can bring something unique to the table.
The Project (It’s a New Game!)
We are on a journey to build a brand new Ultra Fun game. This is a major, multiplatform (but mobile first), free-to-play game that’s built to be played, loved, and experienced for years to come! It has some elements familiar to fans of our previous titles, and some crazy ideas that push into all-new territory. Our prototype team is fun, experienced, scrappy, and loves working together to create the next generation of cross-platform free-to-play games. We have a high regard for the craft of UI/UX design, and believe that specialty is a crucial part of building accessible games with a lot of depth under the surface.
Being a prototype team, we’re seeking someone interested in a contract role, which could become permanent assuming the project moves into full-fledged production later this year. We're inviting you to dive in, roll up your sleeves, and go on this journey alongside us!
This is a 3-month contract role to start (with possible extension), but if it’s a great mutual fit, it could evolve into a full-time position.
What You’ll Do:
Provide vision for the game's UI/UX, ensuring alignment with the game's creative vision and player experience goals
Prototype ideas quickly to test flows, layouts, and interactions
Collaborate closely with game designers, artists, and developers to integrate UI/UX seamlessly into the overall game design
Implement player feedback to refine and optimize the UI/UX throughout the game development process
Create interactive prototypes and wireframes to test and iterate on design concepts
Design tests and utilize data to refine and optimize the UI/UX throughout the game development process
Drive visual consistency and quality across all surfaces and devices (mobile, PC, etc.)
Give and receive feedback like a champ—this is a low-ego, high-iteration team
Make it look and feel great
Put it in the build
Does this sound like you?
You have crafted intuitive and fun User Interfaces on PC and/or Mobile
You can render high-quality UI elements
You like working directly in a game engine
You can help shape the UI/UX of a potential blockbuster from day one
You are excited to join a scrappy team that is bold with big ideas and iterates quickly
You want to work in a fully remote, flexible environment
You want to build something that doesn’t exist yet that could become a hit
Ready to help us make the next game the world won’t stop talking about? We can’t wait to meet you.
