Lead Content Designer
Olive Jar Digital | 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract | Remote
Olive Jar Digital is looking for an experienced Lead Content Designer to join a public sector digital project on a six-month fixed-term contract, starting as soon as possible and running until March 2027.
You’ll lead content design across digital services, ensuring content is clear, accessible and centred around user needs. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you’ll help shape service direction, establish content standards and ensure content supports user journeys and wider service objectives.
Key responsibilities
Lead content design across complex digital services and user journeys.
Set content direction, standards and best practice across project teams.
Work collaboratively with User Researchers, Interaction Designers and other delivery specialists.
Use research, user feedback and analytics to inform content decisions.
Ensure content meets accessibility, usability and plain English standards.
Present and justify content recommendations to senior stakeholders.
Support continuous improvement and maintain consistency across services.
Essential experience
Strong experience delivering content design within digital projects.
Experience leading content design activities and influencing stakeholders.
Understanding of user-centred design, accessibility and agile delivery.
Experience working within public sector or complex digital service environments.
Ability to work at SFIA Level 6, providing direction and leadership.
Contract details
Duration: 6-month FTC, through to March 2027.
Start date: ASAP.
Location: Remote, with visits to the client site when required.
