You work closely with the UX Lead and CMS Technical Lead and own the component system that connects design to the selected CMS. Key responsibilities

  • Experience with Central1 Forge Digital Banking Experience, and particularly their public website solution.
  • Lead front-end engineering for the new public websites for financial institutions (credit unions, in particular).
  • Build reusable, CMS-driven components and page templates.
  • Work closely with UX to translate the design system into a robust component library.
  • Integrate front-end components with CMS APIs and structured content.
  • Develop responsive experiences across desktop, tablet and mobile.
  • Ensure WCAG accessibility compliance.
  • Optimize Core Web Vitals, page performance, SEO and rendering.
  • Implement analytics, tagging and consent-management requirements.
  • Integrate front-end journeys with digital banking, account-opening and other CU platforms.
  • Establish front-end architecture, coding standards and development practices.
  • Support headless or composable architectures where selected.
  • Conduct code reviews and mentor other developers.
  • Work with QA on automated and manual testing.
  • Collaborate with DevOps on CI/CD and environment management.
  • Support migration testing, launch, and stabilization.
  • Help create reusable AEQ components and accelerators that can reduce time and cost across future CU website migrations.

Ideal background

  • 10+ years in modern front-end development.
  • Strong React and TypeScript experience; Next.js experience highly desirable.
  • Experience building enterprise-scale responsive websites.
  • Experience integrating with CMS platforms via REST/GraphQL.
  • Strong component architecture/design-system experience.
  • Excellent HTML/CSS/JavaScript fundamentals.
  • Strong accessibility expertise.
  • Understanding of SEO, performance optimization, and analytics.
  • Experience with enterprise security and regulated environments.
  • Financial-services experience preferred.
  • Experience with one or more of AEM, Sitecore, Kentico, Drupal, Sanity, dotCMS, Umbraco, or similar CMS platforms.
Compensation: $80/h-$100/h depending on skill set and expertise.
