As part of EZLabs, the AI innovation division of VetsEZ, this role will build intelligent healthcare products that improve patient engagement, care coordination, and claims management. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience using Claude Code to develop, test, and deliver functional software products.

You will collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and clinical stakeholders in a fast-paced, remote Agile environment.

The candidate must reside within the continental US.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and clinical stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable, user-focused solutions.
  • Develop APIs, backend services, automation pipelines, and LLM integrations that support intelligent product capabilities.
  • Apply software engineering, DevOps, and MLOps practices to testing, deployment, monitoring, security, and performance optimization.
  • Evaluate emerging AI technologies and implementation approaches to improve product functionality and engineering workflows.
  • Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and ensure the success of the project.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and 1–4 years of experience in software engineering, product engineering, or full-stack application development.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using Claude Code to develop functional software products, including implementing features, debugging code, and validating results.
  • Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, or comparable programming languages, with experience developing frontend components, backend services, and APIs.
  • Hands-on experience integrating LLMs into applications through APIs, prompt engineering, AI agents, generative AI workflows, or retrieval augmented generation (RAG).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to review AI-generated code for correctness, security, maintainability, and test coverage.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and contribute effectively in a remote Agile environment.

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, along with Docker, Kubernetes, or CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with Cursor, Codex, OpenAI APIs, Anthropic APIs, vector databases, embeddings, semantic search, or AI orchestration frameworks.
  • Experience developing deployed AI applications or supporting healthcare, payer/provider, federal government, or Department of Veterans Affairs technology initiatives.
