The posting, in its own words
True Zero is seeking a Technical Project Lead to coordinate delivery of the Department of Veterans Affairs enterprise Zero Trust acceleration effort. This role integrates maturity assessment, architecture use case development, engineering planning, and system implementation support into a disciplined execution model aligned to Government priorities.
The Technical Project Lead maintains visibility across dependencies, schedules, deliverables, implementation waves, risks, and Government inputs while partnering closely with the Principal Zero Trust Architect and pillar specialists. The role focuses on contractor delivery coordination and does not assume operational ownership of VA systems.
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate execution across recurring Zero Trust maturity assessments, enterprise architecture activities, and system implementation engagements.
- Maintain the integrated delivery schedule for monthly scorecards, quarterly maturity reports, use cases, engineering plans, test plans, implementation schedules, and impact reports.
- Track Government inputs, access dependencies, approvals, test windows, implementation risks, and schedule impacts; support resequencing when dependencies affect delivery.
- Coordinate deployment waves and complexity-tier planning for implementation support across Government-prioritized FISMA-reportable systems.
- Lead recurring contractor delivery reviews and prepare concise status, risk, decision, and action reporting for Government stakeholders.
- Ensure lessons learned from system implementation are incorporated into maturity assessments, architecture patterns, and future implementation priorities.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
- Five or more years of experience coordinating complex Federal cybersecurity, Zero Trust, enterprise architecture, or technical implementation programs.
- Experience managing integrated schedules, technical dependencies, deliverables, risks, and multi-team execution.
- Working knowledge of Zero Trust concepts and Federal cybersecurity guidance, including CISA Zero Trust Maturity Model and NIST SP 800-207.
- Strong stakeholder communication, technical coordination, and executive reporting skills.
- Experience supporting VA or another large Federal enterprise.
- Experience coordinating architecture and engineering work across cloud, hybrid, legacy, and mission-critical environments.
- Experience with Jira, ServiceNow, Microsoft Project, SharePoint, or comparable delivery platforms.
