The posting, in its own words
About the role
At Playrix, development teams are at the core of our business. They are the reason that our games have continued to grow and improve for 20+ years.
We’re building an AI-first engineering culture where AI is a full-fledged part of development: we create agentic workflows, introduce new tools, and constantly look for ways to move faster without compromising quality.
AI-Native Software Engineer will build game features and events using AI at every stage of development, and will also evolve the team’s AI tools and practices.
Experience with C++ or game development is not required. We believe that a strong engineering foundation allows you to quickly learn a new language and get to grips with an unfamiliar system.
Responsibilities
Develop game features and events using AI tools
Work end-to-end: from research to launch and ongoing development
Develop the AI tools our team uses to create game events
Improve the architecture and codebase so that new features are easier and faster to build and evolve
Own the quality and stability of your solutions in production
Requirements
AI-native approach to development: experience with AI agents and other AI tools at various stages of the software development lifecycle, from design and coding to testing, review, and debugging
3+ years of commercial development experience
Ability to quickly get up to speed on unfamiliar code, technologies, and domains, and to make well-grounded engineering decisions
Experience delivering projects end-to-end
Nice to have
Experience with game engines (Unity, Unreal Engine, Godot, Cocos2D, Defold, etc.)
Experience developing mobile games
Confident knowledge of modern C++ 14/17 standards, as well as STL
Our stack
AI infrastructure and LLM serving: A centralized platform built on Amazon Bedrock and Databricks AI Gateway, bringing together a multi-model stack (Claude, GPT, Gemini, DeepSeek, Kimi). Through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), we’ve deployed a secure ecosystem of integrations with our internal systems (GitHub, Sentry, Amplitude), which manages access, caching, and context in real time.
AI orchestration and development pipeline: A modular catalog of specialized AI agents and skills with shared state management. The platform provides end-to-end automation of the entire development lifecycle: from generating game logic and UI to testing, creating, and automatically reviewing pull requests.
Engine: Our own in-house engine, which is similar to Unity or Unreal, and which we are continuously developing. We have our own AI assistant to help you quickly get up to speed with the codebase
Languages: C++ (primary), Python for specific tasks
Graphics: OpenGL
We offer
You can experiment with AI tools, introduce new approaches, and scale successful practices across the whole team
A lot of engineering autonomy: we change processes, propose ideas, and bring them to life quickly
Engineers influence product decisions: we play our own games, we know our players, and we understand why we build each feature
A high quality bar: we move fast, but not at the expense of reliability
An open engineering culture: we share experience, discuss decisions, and aren’t afraid to rethink familiar approaches
