The platform coordinates tens of thousands of processing cores and terabytes of memory across multiple data centers to build, test, and validate AMD’s next-generation chip designs. In this role, you will contribute to systems that support the development of CPUs, GPUs, and related technologies using advanced tools and engineering practices.THE PERSON:You apply relevant technologies and are open to learning new tools and techniques. You have experience building and improving tools and systems with a focus on performance, reliability, maintainability, and documentation. You collaborate effectively with colleagues across teams, locations, and time zones and communicate technical information clearly through appropriate written and verbal channels.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Maintain and improve AMD’s multi-cloud data distribution platformDevelop software that automates and streamlines AMD’s chip development workflowsPromote consistent, maintainable, and documented software engineering practices within the team and across the organizationPREFERRED EXPERIENCE:Experience developing and maintaining software using Python and shell scriptingExperience using approved AI-assisted development tools, such as Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or comparable solutions, to improve productivity or automate workflowsExperience administering databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or comparable systemsExperience using cloud storage and compute technologies such as S3, EC2, or comparable servicesExperience administering Linux or Unix systemsExperience using version control systems such as Perforce, Git, or comparable toolsExperience with regression infrastructure or continuous integration and delivery systems such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or comparable toolsACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:Bachelor’s or master’s degree in software engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experienceLOCATION:  Markham, ONVancouver, BCOttawa, ON #LI-DP1#LI-HYBRID Benefits offered are described:  AMD benefits at a glance.AMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services.
